Were you able to get logged in using X11?
The fixes mentioned above correct the logout problem for me, but I was unable to login using X11.
It is the default since years in SDDM. I can select X11 or wayland for login.
The problem was getting a black screen when logging in with X11.
I was able to resolve the problem by removing the maliit package (got info from this post Freezes at login when using X11 after installing Maliit Keyboard - #2 by txtechnician)

Can confirm removing maliit fixed the issue, now I can login using X11 again.
sudo apt remove maliit-keyboard maliit-keyboard

When updating plasma 6 I had the same problems, but then other updates arrived immediately after which put everything back in order, now the system works without problems. I didn’t have to do anything the whole new update did.
