Plasma "Color" future change idea

I was wondering if some time in the future there could be a slight update to colors. Even if this was a bounty change.

Specifically for dolphin.

In “Colors” setting under Color set: View.
You have the options Normal Background and Alternate Background.

The change or addition I’m looking for is.
A. Add a button or toggle to sync these two colors
B. Add it only for dolphin? As it doesn’t need to be OS wide.

Reason.

  1. Having it alternating when scrolling long lists of files at least in my case causes migraines. And a tad bit of motion sickness.
  2. It makes things a bit harder to focus on with my dyslexia.

Current solution,

  1. Manually change it every time a color is picked.

Problem with that is if you use something like KDE Material You Colors an pywal. You have to do it every time you wallpaper changes. Even if you use a static set up. “I like to change my colors/theme up once a week or so.” So I still have to manually change it. Same with kvantum I have to go into each config to change this one setting.

Here’s what I’m talking about.

The other solution is to shrink the icon view size since I get less migraines but that makes things even harder to see on a ultrawide.

All I’m hoping for as a toggle maybe just in dolphin settings for something like this. As its honestly a bit of a bear to deal with long term.
I am sadly not a programmer but I would be more then happy to fund/help fund a change like this down the line.

I took a look at that material you color thing and, although I’m not going to install it to check, there are four lines in the /kde-material-you-colors-main/src/kde_material_you_colors/schemeconfigs.py. They’re the view section of that script. Again, I’m not trying it and I could be completely wrong but I guess the alternate views are set by BackgroundAlternate and BackgroundNormal, lines 335, 336 for light and lines 486,487 for dark. I’m certainly not encouraging you to try it but changing those to either one of the other might do the trick. Probably best to ask the designer of material you really. More than best really.
On a sidenote: From what I understand, once it’s installed, there should be a config file in
~/.config/kde-material-you
colors/config.conf. But I have no idea what can be changed in there.

Yeah that might work for a temp solution but not what I’m really asking as I wont use the widget all the time. The config doesn’t having any settings for it an I talked to the dev already.
This is a setting that you have to change everytime you change to a new color or kvantum theme but in not expecting kvantum to change as its not made by kde. So if you like to change things often it gets to be a bear.
