After a recent update, plasmashell started crashing repeatedly upon login, with little useful info in the terminal output. I moved some files in `~/.config`, don’t ask me which, and the issue abated although I lost all of my desktop customizations.
Now, however, whenever I add a new panel with the system tray, or try to add the system tray widget to an existing panel, plasmashell crashes and restarts with the system tray missing.
I’m really not sure what to do at this point, as I’ve deleted or renamed all files / directories in `~/.config` that looked relevant; have I missed one?
You can try to make a new user, begin from scratch with your desktop and copy only a little number of files (that you know wich ones) to <new user>/.config and see the results.
