Plasma Desktop Icon Issues

Primarily an issue with Wayland Plasma, but there does seem to be an uptick in comments about bugs since the latest update.

Using icons which respect the colour scheme (Breeze, Klassy) I see icons in Dolphin change according to the current highlight as the wallpaper changes every now and then (slideshow).

Desktop icons do not change colour at all. In addition, I created a folder - called Tidy - and gave it a custom wooden box icon which also resets to a standard breeze/klassy icon with blue colourā€¦ regardless of the wallpaper.

I can trigger this reset by powering off my monitor and then powering on again - desktop icons (and positions) are reset.

I can refresh it by context menu>Properties without actually changing anything.

However, a newly created folder on the desktop is, and remains, blue.

Opening Properties on the Tidy folder, then exiting the dialog corrects the custom icon display, but still ignoring the colour Hint:

These issues also remain if I log in to a fresh User, and also if I reset

mv  ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc  ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc-BUG

and kill/restart plasmashell with ā€˜prestartā€™ command via krunner:

~/.local/bin/prestart 
#!/bin/bash

systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service

kquitapp6 plasmashell
killall dolphin
kstart plasmashell
dolphin

Hi - if Iā€™m reading that right, you have ā€œAccent color from wallpaperā€ set in the Colors section of System Settings, and a Slideshow wallpaper set, is that right?

Just curious, do the issues persist if you switch one of those settings back to default (explicitly chosen accent color, static wallpaper)? Wondering if itā€™s related to some interaction of one or both of those settings with how the desktopā€™s folder view works?

Step 1: Applied Color-scheme with bright pink highlight (for use with spreadsheets).
Refreshing plasma still brings a blue Tidy icon - and New Folder is also blue.

Step 2: Change settings - ā€˜imageā€™ - affects only Dolphin.

Step 3: Tested with custom colour - same effect.

Just the Desktop is left out of this partyā€¦

This is also true of my unblemished ā€˜Testā€™ user account.

Update:

The icon colour has started to work now - though Iā€™m not sure why.

I started by applying 3 different Global themes, and then moved on to randomly changing plasma themesā€¦

Now I am back to my original settings - but the accent is indeed good, including the custom icon.

So the only remaining (well known) bug is apparently the location (icons reset).

Thanks for the input - this was a strange one thatā€™s bugged me for a couple of days.
