Plasma Titlebars appear stretched/squished

Sometimes the titlebars in some plasma windows are stretched in a strange way when I resize the window. The Min/Max/Close buttons will stretch and get further apart from each other, and the title will also scale horizontally. It appears as thought it is a scaled image rather than a layout that adjusts itself to fill its designated space.

The attached image shows the title bars from 3 windows. The top one titled “About this system - System Settings” appears normal. The middle one titled “GPU - System Monitor” is stretched wide - you can see that the text is stretched horizontally and the min/max/close button are larger than the title bar above it. The third title says “Nordonia - Dolphin”, and you can clearly see that the text is squished, as well as the min/max/close buttons.

How do I prevent this?

Does this happen with all aurorae stuff?

No, it’s with random individual windows. The screenshot was taken on my desktop with 3 windows, and not all of them were affected. I haven’t been able to notice any pattern in regards to any particular program being affected or any particular action being the cause.

I meant, does this happen with any aurorae window decoration? Iow, do you have the problem with, say, default breeze window decoration or another aurorae theme?

I haven’t tried it with any other theme yet. I’ll switch and see if it comes up. It’s intermittent, so I’m not sure how long it’ll take to get a result.

My current theme, btw, is Ant-Dark.

I can say that I’ve had this theme for years and not had this problem. I want to say that it started popping up around 6-9 months ago? It’s a minor annoyance, so I ignored it for a long time. The functional impact is that I have to guess where the min/max/close button’s action areas are located (they don’t scale with image).

I just switched my theme, and upon application the new theme (Breeze Dark) appears fine. Switching back to Ant-Dark also looks fine. We’ll see if it holds, I’ll keep it on Breeze for a while. Ty for the suggestion.

Well, if it turns out to be the theme and you want your current ant look, might I suggest to give Klassy window decoration a swing. It has many more options than some aurorae theme.
