Plasma Virtual Keyboard feedback needed

I’m not sure if this a plasma keyboard specific issue or a more general plasma limitation, but I’m having trouble getting the plasma virtual keyboard to show up at all if I want to also be able to type in Japanese (with a normal physical keyboard)

Plasma-keyboard and fcitx5: possible to use them together?

I’m also having this issue. I got a framework laptop 12 that can be a tablet, and the on-screen keyboard is nice when in tablet mode. But I also do a lot of typing in Japanese, which requires the mozc/fcitx5 input method. But that disables the plasma keyboard, which makes tablet mode nearly unusable. I can’t figure out a way to allow typing in japanese while also allowing the virtual keyboard to appear in tablet mode.
