[Popup] System policy prevents network connection control

OS: Oracle Linux 9
GUI: KDE Plasma 5.27.11
Remote Access: XRDP

Hello,

I have a popup that appears when starting KDE in user mode.
It asks me for the root password.
Message: System policy prevents network connection control.
I have seen the many posts on this subject. but I still have the problem.
Could you help me find the solution?
Thank you in advance.

Nelson

Hi! This sounds like an issue with how polkit and NetworkManager are configured to work with each other, and with users logging in remotely. I could be wrong, but the message that you’re getting in Plasma looks to me like an issue with those underlying system components, surfacing up.

For what it’s worth, it might be helpful to check into resources for how to get polkit configured for the environment you’re working in - which I don’t think would necessarily be bound to a specific desktop environment (e.g. see policykit - How do I set the policy for users to modify the network state and connections? - Ask Ubuntu )

(And…if you have an Oracle Linux subscription, hopefully you are also able to take advantage of their support! )
