I am currently trying to align any written text to the left. Yes, that is the default, but not when typing in a RTL language. I still want to keep the typing directionality (so that any additional characters or letters appear to the left, but i’d like Kate to format the entire line as being aligned to the left as well.

I don’t think so. Kate is a simple text editor, it does not really support text formatting (aside from things like HTML or Markdown, where the text is formatted through itself).
What you want to do is only doable with a more sophisticated word processor like LibreOffice Writer.
Its possible but not implemented. We do have an action to force the text to right side. MainMenu → View → Force RTL Direction
There’s always the posibility of starting every paragraph with an LRE or LRM character, which on the arabic keyboard layout are on the fourth level of the AD06 and AD10 keys, i.e. where the y and p keys would be: AltGr+Shift+y and AltGr+Shift+p.
