Possible to change selection color of desktop icons?

Is there a way to change the selection color for desktop icons? I want something more distinctive than the default, to have enough contrast to my wallpaper.

Maybe all I need is the right google bait…

This color comes from the selection or accent color in the color scheme (either the systemwide one, or the one baked into the active Plasma theme). But it’s not separately user-customizable.

Too bad… Need a more contrasting wallpaper then.

You can do it by adding a viewitem.svg in ~/.local/share/plasma/desktoptheme/whatever/widgets.
Keep in mind though that editing that file might (depending what the svg is) affect the viewitem in your menu ( and some). So, it needs a bit of a hit&miss.
