Possible to enter tiling mode without holding shift

Hi All!

I’m looking for the ability to enter tiling mode (i.e., the mode configured w/ Meta+T) without the need for holding shift while dragging a window. I’ve dug around in the settings and haven’t found anything.

Is this currently possible?

hi, welcome.

there are two tiling modes

quick tile does not use the shift key, but you are limited to edges and corners for 1/2 or 1/4 screen tiling.

custom tiling (meta+t) requires the shift key while dragging to trigger the custom mode

there are 3rd party tiling scripts you can install that may behave differently, but they are not part of the core KDE product.
