Powerdevil doesn't change brightness right after boot up

Hi,
I have a problem where on the current version of powerdevil I use (as I write this I use 6.2.5-1), the brightness is not changed automatically right after boot up. I just noticed this after reinstalling my OS (endeavouros).
From what I remember, the brightness will set automatically after boot up when the power profile or the charging status changed.

In my case, I set my brightness automatically to 50% when using AC power and 10% when using battery and 5% when critical. When I unplug the adapter while the laptop still on, it changed the brightness to 10%. So if I turn off the laptop while not charging it will on 10% brightness and if I plug the charger and then turn on the laptop it should changed to 50% again, but not on newer version.

I’ve been trying to downgrade the powerdevil to older version. I’ve installed version 6.2.4-1, 6.20-1, 6.1.5-1, 6.1.4-1.
Versions 6.1.5-1 and 6.1.4-1 fix the problem but I got another problem. The battery and brightness indicator is gone on that version after I downgrade and if I upgrade again to newer version it’s back. I’ve been trying to restart the powerdevil on older version but still the same.

Currently, I’m running the following system (hope this help)

OS: EndeavourOS Linux x86_64
Kernel: 6.12.8-arch1-1
Shell: bash 5.2.37
DE: Plasma 6.2.5
WM: kwin 6.2.5-1

Sorry if I can’t explain well enough. Thank you.

Since I cant post screenshot and link to a video I made to kinda explain this problem, I will post it Later.

Thank you.

Hi! I haven’t experienced that myself, but I do see where there’s been a report of what sounds like the same situation, via the KDE Bugtracking System: 497362 – Brightness settings are not applied on startup

If that situation generally lines up with yours, it may be helpful confirmation if you could add your context that you’ve observed the opposite direction occurring as well (i.e. the reporter of that bug observed it by disconnecting power while off, you’ve observed it by reconnecting power while off).

Thank you for the information, I don’t know if this already reported on KDE Bugtracking. I’ll write the details of my problem there and link the video about the problem.

I think I will close this discussion. Once again, thank you for letting me know about the KDE Bugtracking and have a nice day.
