Problem to find my device

Hello everyone !!!
Just install KDEconnect buy no device found on the Linux program…
I’m using Linux Mint and an Android phone and I’ve allowed everything to KDE connect on my Linux firewall.
I’m using ProtonVpn on my devices and sharing my connection to my computer in wifi with my phone…
Thanks in advance for your help !!

Hi! Just to clarify - could you specify:

  • Which device - computer or phone - is connected to the internet, and has Proton VPN running?
  • How is the connection sharing occurring - USB tethering, Wifi hotspot, etc.?
  • Is Proton VPN using OpenVPN or Wireguard?
  • Is any sort of VPN tunneling or anything in place?

I’m no networking expert, but it does sound possible that one device might be isolated from the other device via the VPN?

Hi there!
Thanks for your reply.
My phone as well as my Linux computer are both connected to the internet through a hotspot provided by my phone.
Both have ProtonVPN configured with Wiregard TCP.
I have not activated split tunneling.

Have a nice day!

Check if both are on the same local network, and not, e.g., one on the regular wifi and the other on the guest network. KDE Connect only worked within the same local nework for me.

I’m finally at home with my wifi router for my pc and phone. It still doesn’t work… I think it’s a block/bug from Proton services ?!

Could be blocked in router settings (devices not allowed to talk to each other).
