Let’s say we have a file named “png.png”. If I modify it, then the image updates in kdenlive, no effort required.
Now let’s say I make it a proxy file. If I modify the file, the changes don’t appear on their own; I have to regenerate the proxy manually.
Y’ever heard of Godot? I won’t go over everything, but Godot can automatically check if any files have been modified in real-time. I think we can do that for proxies: If anything’s been modified, then it regenerates the proxy.
