Oh, the QIF importer development goes back more than 15 years, a time when KMyMoney did not know about tags at all. Adding the tag to the category was the solution at the time. Apparently, devs never got around to fully add the tags also to the QIF importer. I doubt that any other KMyMoney importer can import tags.
One question I have: how does the line
LNebenkosten:Strom/Büro
look when there are two or more classes assigned to it (or is that not supported by Lexware/QIF? Once we know that, we can certainly enhance the QIF importer to support reading tags.
But there are some changes in application layout and behavior that I have to get used to. What is the status of this branch? Any hope of an official release with some documentation?
If you use one of the versions from master branch (which ipwizard linked to) the included handbook should be the one already updated in preparation for the new version.
using kmymoney-master-4011-linux-gcc-x86_64.AppImage right now, the Help => KMyMoney Handbook (F1) does not open. Do I need anthing special locally to make this work?
If you run the appimage from command line, it might give some useful error. For me (an older appimage) says “version `OPENSSL_3.3.0’ not found” even though I have openssl 3.4.0 installed. I wonder if it it a packaging issue, but I’m really not sure.
As a workaround The KMyMoney Handbook is an online copy of the handbook for master branch.
