reduce space between icons in dolphin

Hello
I’m moving from windows to Kubuntu. everything is great but extra space between icons in dolphin is annoying.

I’m talking about extra space that I marked in picture.

In the settings of Dolphin you can choose from here:

You can also press Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up to have more icons (and bigger) for row, or Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Down to have less icons (and lesser) for row.

Regards

That setting changes the icon size.
Increasing icon size reduces that space but I don’t want large icons.
I just want more icons of same size (currently 64px) to be in the same row.

Under View and Icons like the above sceenshot by @Krovikan set Label width to small.

Edit: The only downside to that is that folders / files with long names will take up multiple lines. You can set Multiple lines to 1, but that then truncates the folder / file name. But at least it keeps it on a single line.

Yep. setting label width to small removed that extra space. thank you.

i set icon view to just show just one short line of the file name since when i’m using icon view i’m not looking at file name, im looking at the thumbnail preview (which you can also turn on)… this will maximize you use of the screen for the icons.

long file names on one line in the compact view help me when i’m looking at file names more than the previews.

and details view is for when i need to look at other attributes that has the smallest icons so that the text lines are tighter together.

each view has is utility.
