Hi,
I am trying to hide/remove the vertical lines of the treeview in dolphin and in Kmail. I searched online but I couldn’t find any information about it. Is this possible?
my system:
OS: Fedora 37
KDE version: 5.27.3
Thanks in advance for the help.

I’m afraid it’s not possible.

Hey Ngraham,
Thank you for the info. Kmail looks too saturated with these lines. I think without these lines, Kmail and Dolphin will have a better modern touch.
Just in case, someone new is still wondering if this is possible. Yes, it certainly is now. Under configure Dolphin, go to View - Details - uncheck Folders Expandable. Done.
sadly that just turns the feature off totally.
yes perhaps, but it makes it behave like most other file managers, which is what i think most people want.
>>which is what i think most people want.
I don’t think it’s a good thing to think what most people want. I think what most people want is for people to ask them what they want and not for people to think what they think what people want. don’t you think?
actually no, i don’t think that. It is okay to think what people want and try and give them based on your own interpretation. That is how most human interactions work. In this case, the clear implication of the question was how to get rid of the lines, it was not to turn of the lines but keep the expandable folder structure still functional. Most other file managers out there don’t have that functionality anyways, so my thinking that that is what most people want ( specifically in relation to the question) has a high probablility of being correct. Hence my statement. Your approach of being too cautious will only result in discussions and no solutions as you will not want to take action in fear of wrongly interpreting other people’s intentions. Better to act and be helpful than not to try at all.
I will however concede that my reply should have mentioned that though the vertical lines will go away, it takes away a key feature of dolphin which is the expandable folder view which imo is a really useful feature.
