Returning to Kate after a brief flirtation with VSCode. I prefer reliability.
The one thing - the only thing - I miss from VSCode is find/replace in sidebars. My code is tall more than wide, and having half my vertical screen real estate taken up really messes with me, because I lose most of the context around where I am.
I would love to move all those ancillary functions to sidebars, ideally on the right*. In English (and code?) we read left->right, so that’s where the code should be: everything else should go to the right of the screen.
- or un-docked and floating? That’d be cool too.
