SDDM Locks me out into the Simple Display Mnager User if I dont login on startup

Hey guys I have this weird problem in kde plasma 6 kubuntu 25.10 where on startup if I dont login on my user and I let it wait, instead of the screen turning off, I get locked out in this lockscreen with the stock background and no password I tried lets me in, nor switch user works if I click it

Can anyone help me fix this?

Are we talking about the lock screen or the login screen?

Did you knowingly create a user account on the computer named “Simple Desktop Display Manager”?

@ngraham the login screen sddm…I never created such user…It basically happens every time Im logged out or havent logged in to my user and I let it turn off the screen…I can also trigger it by closing the lid and the switch user button doesnt work

Well someone created a user account named “Simple Desktop Display Manager”. Perhaps this is an internal system user and the problem is that it’s being shown at all.

Might need a Kubuntu user or developer to weigh in about how the system is configured out of the box.

@ngraham Well I asked askubuntu.com and they say its a bug with kubuntu that needs to be reported. For the time now tho…How can I force sddm to never lock or turn screen off if im not logged in?
