SDDM-Related Memory Leak

I wasn’t sure where to put it on the tracker, so I thought I would ask here.

I use KDE Plasma on a laptop. Today I noticed that my idle memory usage was much higher than usual and did the computer equivalent of running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off until I noticed that it went back to normal. Eventually, I isolated the excess RAM usage to when an external display I use was plugged in. While ~300MB of it is unavoidable and the result of RAM being used by my iGPU to store things, ~400MB of it is not.

If the second monitor is plugged in when SDDM is brought up or is running, for some reason about 400MB is allocated and then never released back to the host operating system.

This seems to me like a bug. Where should I put this in the bug tracker?

Hi! If it’s specifically sddm or sddm-helper that has unexpected memory usage, that sounds like one for the dedicated SDDM issue tracker - while KDE developers contribute a lot to SDDM, it’s not formally a KDE project.
