the best way is almost always going to be from your disto’s default repositories…perhaps if you ask them they will add it.
if you are using a distro that does not have the package you need your next best choice would be a flatpak and using flatseal to adjust the permissions if need be.
snap is a good option if you have that installed.
appimage would be my last resort before compiling from source.
Kdenlive devs always recommend trying the the AppImage if you run into trouble. Kdenlive packaged by distros is sometimes incorrectly packaged, missing dependencies, etc. Devs use the AppImage as the base by which they measure stuff.
Sorry, but if you want to report bugs here (as a linux user), and have people here help you with them or fix them, you’ll need to show they exist, and how to reproduce them in the Appimage.
If you can’t do that, then chances are it’s most probably a bug in the packaging you’re using - and you should take your problem up with the Manjaro packager, or whoever’s packages it is you’re using and get them to triage it first.
What you’d prefer to use is totally up to you. But what the developers have tested and committed to supporting is the Appimage.
If there were a problem with the repo, then sure - we move on to Flatpak or Appimage - I’m not in disagreement with this strategy.
This is why it’s actually quite important to get some basic information (even just the most basic system information from the ‘System Info’ package) which should really be included in any post/enquiry.
Perhaps it would be an idea to put this as a template for people making new posts:
System Information
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.10-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics
Memory: 16.1 GB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Graphics
Product Name: B550M Steel Legend
From here, we must then focus on whether OP has some issue with their system that prevents the Appimage from working.
I find that ‘other’ issues often come into play - maybe an unsupported status (often packaging issues caused by improper updating etc).
So did anyone make sense of OP’s output?
(Reformatted for clarity).

@Karsten Before answering this question, please paste the output of your system information. Use the </> code format for the pasted output.

Detected locale “C” with character encoding “ANSI_X3.4-1968”, which is not UTF-8.
Qt depends on a UTF-8 locale, and has switched to “C.UTF-8” instead.
If this causes problems, reconfigure your locale. See the locale(1) manual
for more information.
