I exported a project from Premiere Pro to FCP_XML then used OpenTimelineIO to convert that directly to a kdenlive file.
Opening the project worked fine and all of my clips appear to be in the right place (the original project didn’t have any effects applied, so it was very straightforward).
But now my main sequence is behaving strangely. I have five audio tracks and five video tracks. When my files were imported, none of the audio tracks were linked to their video tracks. This itself is not a huge deal since my project will eventually have me dicing up audio and video separately anyway, and if I cared to, I could select “restore audio” on each clip which works fine.
What’s strange is that when I add new clips, it won’t allow me to add the video and audio linked. Dragging from the film and speaker icons, I can add them in separately, but when I drag from the main portion of the clip in my Project Bin, it defaults to dragging in just audio and says “no available track for insert operation.”
This only happens in that one sequence too. I created another sequence in the project and don’t see that behavior. I considered just copying everything to the new sequence, but if I try to copy from multiple tracks, pasting into the new sequence gives me “not enough tracks to paste clipboard.”
Any idea what’s going on here? Is my project file corrupted? Or is there some project setting that’s causing this to happen?
I’m fairly new to Kdenlive though I’ve used Premiere for over a decade, so I’m hoping it’s me misinterpreting a feature as a bug.
Most of my clips are 4k 29.97 stereo with a few 1080p clips. To my knowledge, I don’t have any still images in my timeline. I’m also using proxy clips right now, but the same behavior happens when proxy clips are turned off.
