I might have brought this on myself. For the past few days I have suffered with extreme sluggishness in KMM. I think that this might be caused because I had been using the Master Development versions, and being tired of not having the reports be “hot”, i.e., updating automatically when the ledger entries changed, I had the brilliant idea to “dnf install kmm” from the Fedora repo. I later went back to the most recent development version. All the while using my actual dataset.
I have not noticed any large difference in file sizes.
I tried the consistency check - all fine.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Fedora Linux 44 (KDE Plasma Desktop Edition)
KMM Master Version 5.2.70-3b568f3
I doubt it matters, but which version (from Help/About) does Fedora give you? I assume the sluggishness started while using that version - has the problem continued even when reverting to a stable or developer version?
Is the Master Version self compiled, or from Appimage/snap/Flatpak?
I can’t think of any reason anything you have done should cause this, but we all know *()&^ happens. One thing to try is to run from command line to look for any evidence of mismatched library versions, even though I can’t think of how that would matter if the program still runs.
Out of curiosity, are you storing the file on a network storage device of some sort? I know I’ve had my fair share of oddities on some other programs, where corruption has happened due to something related to that, although to KMM’s credit I have yet to experience it. Just an idea, though, if it’s all local than it kinda throws my suggestion out.
@acetakeer REmember that KMM reads the file, and then does all work in-memory, writing out the file when you do an explicit File/Save. (The same happens even with one of the SQL back ends.) Any problems reading or writing a file will happen when reading or writing, but will not have any effect on other processing.
Thanks for the reply, Jack. THe version that I got from dnf install was v5.2.2.
I think the problem is still there. I have not had the time until this weekend to do some more testing. I use the AppImages. I will run from the command line and study the behavior from a second terminal window. I will report back. A
Thanks, Ace. No, it is a local file.
