My goal today is to setup the two major themes light and dark and have Fedoar 44 switch between them automatic
Light should have the thumbnail from breez light
should have Windows decoration Utterly Round Light
cursors Posy’s Cursor 125%
Dark should have the thumbnail from breeze dark
should have Windows decoration Utterl Round Black
curors Posy’s Cursor Black 125%
In which order should I click through the varios Global Thema entries and Quick settings? I’ve tried a number of orders saved my own themes but ever change either the pointers are back or windows decorations or both or the thumbnails are indistinguisable.
Presuming I understand your issue correctly, I believe the easiest way is to go through your options, and save a custom global theme with your choices, then create your second global theme with your second set of choices, then use the Theme dropdown menus to select your choices in the first two columns, which should populate the third.
From there, it should automate from your rules setup in Day-Night Cycle
i could be wrong, but i seem to remember seeing somewhere that for the day-night theme switching to work you need to select a theme that has both dark and light versions built into it.
in other words you can choose two different themes to switch between, it just has to be A theme that supports switching.
-set light how u want (breeze light colors, Utterly Round Light, Posy cursor, wallpaper)
-Global Theme → save as custom, call it My Light
-flip every piece to dark (breeze dark, Utterly Round Black, Posy Black, dark wallpaper)
-save custom My Dark
then Colors & Themes → Day / Night Cycle:
-Day → My Light
-Night → My Dark
dont poke the individual cursor/decoration settings after that or they overwrite the custom theme. if a pointer still flips check ~/.local/share/plasma/look-and-feel/ for both packages and that contents/defaults has the CursorTheme line set
And, an edit: Clicking on save current theme will create a global theme of all your choices and drop it by default into your home directory. Do that twice for both light and dark, then under quick settings select your light theme choice on the first column, your dark theme choice on the second, and that will set the rotation for the third.
