Show edit tools by default in Spectacle

I need to edit the 99% of my screenshots.

I think an option to always show the editing tools by default might be interesting.

Thanks!

This is already the default since version 6.4.

Set your shortcut key to “Launch Spectacle” and it should open the UI for you.

In settings you can set what you want it to when it opens, for example, Take a full screen screenshot.

Thanks, I really missed this.

Now works 90% as I expected, after press the print screen key, I can draw a rectangular region to capture. Then spetacle opens de screenshot, but I still need to press “Edit” after each capture to see the edit tools.

I cannot find an option to change this behavior.

I’m sure I’m using spectacle > 6.5:

Sorry if I’m missing something else…

Yes, this is the same behavior I see.

with the message from @ostfriese4, I had understood that starting from version 6.5, the default behavior was to show the edit tools … Did I misunderstand? or is @ostfriese4 wrong?

In my system, pressing the print screen key does start an rectangular selection. While selecting, there are buttons for drawing lines and blurring available. This seems to be the default since already Plasma 6.4.

This is how it should look:

I thought the OP was asking for these to shown by default:

Exactly! As seen in the OP screenshot, I mean after copying or saving, not while taking the screenshot.

The behavior that @ostfriese4 describes, was the same with version 5.27, no need to update.

I start again…

I think an interesting improvement in Spectacle would be to be able to configure whether the editing tools should always be visible by default.
