Title explains it all
Make do with Plasma panels, or use some other older and depricated dock-like thingy.
Or wait a while with baited breath.
I only ever used Latte to provide the means to have different panels and layouts per Activity. This was one of my favorite early KDE 4 features that unfortunately went away.
elementeryOS is to only one working on a wayland compatible dock. There is some movement in a latte port check the github for it an donate or get involved. GitHub - KDE/latte-dock at work/plasma6
Could I use Xwayland to fix it?
It’s not written for KDE 6 at all. An it was dropped on a way older version of plasma 5 so even installing that to use it wouldn’t be recommended or safe.
That kinda sucks
It’s just how things are programed. Times change an ppl get burnt out. Or have jobs an personal lives to get to.
Plasma panels have improved immensely.
About 95% of the features that made me use Latte dock have now been implemented.
When I used Latte dock, some years ago, I also noticed that it was a resource hog - so I was very happy when Plasma upped it’s game and started making the panel work better as a dock.
It has gotten a lot nicer I use it now. but it’s missing the most important feature. The magnification on hover. Which if you done want a large dock or are vision impaired is nice.
An no, hiding the dock an while nice dodge window are not the same.
This perhaps: GitHub - dangvd/crystal-dock: A cool dock (desktop panel) for Linux desktop
It has seen a lot of development recently and can be configured in several ways.
