Skrooge/Java - can't import files

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could assist me in regards to importing a Mny file into Skrooge

I’ve successfully installed Skrooge 25.4.0 on Mint 22.1 Cinnamon

However, when I try and import a file from Money, I get this error message:-

[ERR-5]: Import of file named ‘file:///home/Quake/Documents/sample.mny’ failed
[ERR-4]: The java application is not installed. You must manually install it.

Linux kernel is 6.8.0-71-generic

I’ve tried to install Java through the console and it seems to be successful. (Installed through console on sudo apt install default-jre) and that seems to be version 21.0.8, runtime environment 21.0.8+9-ubuntu-0ubuntu124.0.01

openjdk 64bit server vm build 21.0.8+9

Tried other files, and they work, but in this case, the qif files are throwing out wildly inaccurate information for some reason

Full system info if it helps

I have the same issue. I tried setting JAVA_HOME, using an old jre version also, changing the PATH, but I had no luck until now. Is java path hard coded in skrooge ?

After trying a lot of times, and having various issue (like using woob) I figured out that it seems to be related to the way I installed skrooge. When trying to use woob, I had an error related to python because it was looking for python woob file in the wrong directory. Instead of /var/lib/flatpak it was looking in /usr/lib or something like this.

So I reinstalled skrooge-kf5 using the apt way, and now it ms money import works

Sorry I’m new to linux so my explanations may be poor

I think you’re more proficient than myself then:) - Glad to hear it worked for you.

For myself, I eventually managed to get money to export to csv (though some manual adjustments were needed as it included monthly total movements) - but that worked for me.
