I can’t get Skrooge to import Quicken data. I am running Zorin OS from a flash drive to make sure the software I need works before installing it. I have tried to import both QIF and QFX Quicken export files with no success. The QFX file gives an error that is not supported by Skrooge even though the Skrooge website says it is. The QIF file has other errors that make if fail. Is there any way around this? I am exporting from Quicken 2014 and it only gives those two export options. This problem is the last thing that is delaying me from installing Linux.
Hi,
I’m the main developer of Skrooge.
Skrooge is well able to import QIF file.
If this doesn’t work for one of your file, you can send me it by email and I will be able to analyse why.
You can find my email in the “About” of Skrooge.
Thank you for responding. I have been trying to import the file a number of times and each session of running Zorin OS I am getting different error messages even though the QIF file is the same file each time. I have gotten errors that the import failed and the opening of the file failed in one session, but other times I am getting data specific errors. Do you think that running it live from a flash drive could be effecting the Skrooge import? I will eventually install it, but for now I am still learning about it. I am new to Linux, so I am learning about how things work in that as well as learning about Skrooge. I have tried copying the file to different directories since it seemed like Zorin OS could not find it in the original location on my hard drive. I wanted to to try a few more times to see if I could get it to work before sending you the file but so far without success. Do you think installing Linux would make a difference in the import success?
