For some small windows like prompts, icons will cover most part of the window thumbnail in Overview. I think there should be no icon or a smaller icon for small windows as such.
By Overview I mean the “task switcher” KDE opens when you move your mouse cursor to the left top edge of your screen (if you didn’t change the Screen Edge setting ofc)
Interesting - I think I get where you’re going and understand the desire, although I would then be concerned that having unevenly-sized icons or titles would be hard to navigate through visually.
What if the icons/titles mimicked the buttons in the Icons-and-Text Task Manager, as a rectangle immediately below the window? That way nothing is obscuring the window previews, and there’s technically one fewer visual “thing” for folks to learn the meaning of?
I’m not sure what is Icons-and-Text Task Manager? Is that the Panel?
Though I managed to find a post talking about it: https://lemmy.kde.social/post/1541729; It has some screenshots.
It sounds a good idea, judging from the screenshots in the post.
Icons-and-Text Task Manager is one of the widgets you can have on a panel to show your pinned applications and open windows.
The default one on most Plasma installations would be the Icons-Only Task Manager, but Icons-and-Text is available to switch to if you’d like to check it out by right-clicking on the panel in an open space, and choosing “Show Alternatives”.
I managed to find the widget, looks good from here, simple and clear.
