Hi there, new to KDE, pretty cool! Thanks for any help.
The main reason I got KDE was to switch away from Google Messages while still being able to text from my PC.
The connection was easy to set up, and at first everything was working flawlessly. But then I tried using it with an SMS apps I got from F-Droid set as my default app, instead of Messages.
I noticed that although my texts are still going through to the recipient, the messages that I send from my PC no longer show up in the SMS app on my phone. So only half of the conversation (the received messages) are in there. Same behaviour with a second SMS app from F-Droid that I tried.
If I switch back to Google Messages, immediately it works as expected again. And actually when I switch back to the other SMS apps, they are now populated with the messages that didn’t appear before.
So I guess that could be a workaround, just change the default messaging app briefly after a session of PC texting… but since my goal is to not have my texts visible to Google Messages at all, it kind of defeats the point hey?
I’m wondering if this is some side effect of SMS not using RCS, or what else I could maybe try to get it to work as expected.
