snap livepatchd not starting using normal boot, normal boot process frozen.

When I start my laptop (Asus Vivobook X7600PC_N7600PC), it gets stuck at this message.
“Failed to start snap.canonical-live-cal-livepatch.canonical-livepatchd”.

Workaround: start in recovery mode. Neon GNU/Linux with Linux 6.12.3-061203-generic (recovery mode), then run dpkg and resume normal boot.

But now I have the next problem: my external monitor doesn’t function.
The root cause for this is explained in a pop-up message during resume: not all graphical drivers are loaded when following this boot path. Proposed solution in the message is “reboot system and do normal boot”. Which brings me back to where I was: stuck.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Probably by using a stock, supported Ubuntu kernel, and not a generic build from Mainline (from December)

Or, if that kernel is useful to you:

Removing/turning off the livepatch system, which is probably borked by the non-stock kernel. or seeking support from Canonical Ubuntu since it is their thing

Good afternoon claydoh, I disabled livepatch, but then it was stuck somewhere else :frowning:
and then again the work-around.
After sudo apt update/upgrade everything is back to normal.
Do I know why - no.
Thanks for your suggestions.
