Is “Software Centre” * the same thing as “Discover”?
Clicking on “Get Jellyfin Media Player…” opens Discover but shows:
*) mind the British spelling!
It’s a “Runner”, i.e. a provider of results to Plasma Search.
In principle, clicking the search result will cause it to be handled by whatever app handles appstream:// URIs. In practice you’d always expect that to be Discover.
On KDE Linux this works fine for me, I click the search result and see the Jellyfin app in Discover.
What does this give?
grep jellyfin /var/lib/flatpak/appstream/flathub/x86_64/active/appstream.xml
Any results? Does the file even exist?
once i enabled the “software center” plugin for krunner and searched for “jel” it offered me the same search results (in a different order tho), and when i selected the desktop client it opened discover which then searched for and found the desktop client for me to install.
so it should have worked in your case.
what happens if you search directly in discover for the software you want? (which is what i normally do instead of using krunner).
