solved: downgrading to kwin 6.2.0 solves the issue
Issue: Invisible Cursor, Shake-to-Find Cursor Works Briefly
I am experiencing an issue where my mouse cursor does not appear on the screen. However, when I use the “shake-to-find cursor” feature, the cursor briefly becomes visible but disappears as soon as I stop shaking it. The mouse functionality is otherwise normal, as both left and right mouse buttons work correctly.
Context:
This issue seems to have started after I updated a few Plasma-related packages. Additionally, I’ve noticed that the splash screen after logging in now lingers significantly longer than before (it used to be just a brief flash, now it stays on-screen longer before showing the desktop).
Logs:
When I searched the logs using journalctl
for any mentions of “cursor”, I found multiple entries like the following:
sddm-helper-start-wayland[710]: "kwin_core: Failed to load cursor theme \"default\"\n"

Do you have any suggestions for other steps I could try or specific logs I should check?
