I was curious to see how donations triggered by the new Plasma 6.2 notification would compare to the previous ones.
Here are some stats I quickly pulled up from the Paypal Donations - KDE Community page. The first table shows stats about each of the first 7 days of this month. The second one shows aggregated stats about each of the last 4 months.
As we can seen, the average donation people have made this month (December) is approximately the same as the ones made in the previous months.
Great to see this initiative is working. Let’s hope it helps not only KDE but also other similar organizations and individuals by bringing awareness among us, users. I think the idea of asking for money in a proper way that doesn’t cross the line (as subjective as that can be) was fantastic. Kudos to Nate and everyone else at KDE - we highly appreciate all the great work and all the sacrifices you’re making!
