Some keyboard input is not working

Here’s a video of the symptoms. I fired up Windows 11 and the problem disappears. Some keys just don’t respond unless I hold them down for a long time. Sometimes, a restart helps. Is this a kernel bug? A KDE thing? Please, can anyone help? This is driving me a little bit crazy.

do you have the same behavior with an external keyboard?

You can type the letters q, w, e, a, s, d, z, x, c? And r, t, y, f, g, h?

I am thinking in a piece of keyboard broken. From 4 (and below) to the left. Is only a conjecture.

Regards

I just confirmed, the external keyboard works fine.

That’s what I would say as well, but I switched to Windows 11 to test and the keyboard miraculously works just fine.

My wife had a similar issue on a Dell XPS - laptop keyboard was behaving badly on Linux, much less so on Windows. We didn’t figure it out, eventually we just sent it to the lab, they replaced the keyboard and its been fine ever since.

How infuriating, this might be my last lenovo laptop. I’ve had a few screen problems with it, too. It’s less than a year old. And clearly there’s nothing wrong with the keyboard since Windows works.

I have done some more reading, and maybe running the LTS kernel will fix this problem. I will update if it works or doesn’t work.
