Spectacle froze when trying to record

I just tried to use the record feature without having spectacle open, by using the hotkey ctrl+alt+r.

This caused the little record button to appear in the task pane (although it took a minute to start). After the red record button appeared, a few seconds later, a popup appeared “you can end the recording by clicking the button” above the button.

I clicked it. Nothing happened.

Tried to run Spectacle, and an error popped up. Saying it was already running.

Had to kill Spectacle to get the button to disappear. And to get Spectacle working again.
