Spectacle: "take a new screenshot" behavior between versions

I have 2 systems, one with Kubuntu 22.04 and one with Manjaro, and noticed their spectacles behave very differently.

Kubuntu (with spectacle 21.12.3) has a dropdown for the type of screenshot you want to take (screen, active window, rectangle, window under mouse) and as long as spectacle is open, spectacle will use that type of capture without needing to press special screen combinations

Manjaro (spectacle 24.05.1) on the other hand does not have this dropdown (instead having 4 buttons), as well as seemingly not the “take new screenshot” works differently although I havent yet gone deep enough to find out the specifics

I assume this is due to the behavior has just been changed in a newer version, however is there a way to get that back?

I like this ability to just set up the environment for a screenshot and hit print to shoot what I need, which is especially useful in scenarios where I cant just pull up spectacle to take it or do complex hotkeys like Super+Shift+print or super+ctrl+print

What I miss from the old Spectacle is the option to CLICK when a user is ready to take a screenshot. The 4 modes - Rectangular, Fullscreen, Active Window and Window Under Cursor is better as a selected mode. Worst for me is the Delay option doesn’t seem to work. Even setting delay to 5 sec and clicking Fullscreen takes a screenshot immediately. Frustrating.

My workaround has taken me to using GIMP - File > Create > Screenshot. At least with it, I can have some semblance of control.
