Stamps with signature

Hi
Do you have a solution to adapte the sizeof the signature when I create it ?
Best regards
Alain

Is this in Okular? Are you doing the thing I described in Tips & tricks: handwritten signatures in Okular – Adventures in Linux and KDE?

If so, when you add the signature to the document, just click-and-drag where you want it to go and it will be automatically resized.

Does that help?

It may seem hard to do at first. At the moment I clicked (after selecting to sign) the image was pasted and seemed not to be resizable, because there wasn’t a visible box to resize. The idea is to ignore that and act as if dragging a larger rectangle - which I cannot see while dragging. But once created, clicking the image should make the resizable rectangle visible, until the pdf is saved.

But there may be a problem: after saving and closing the pdf —with the stamp signature made in Okular and the document simply saved, not ”printed as pdf”— the document is editable in Adobe Reader, the signature is there just a ”stamp” that can be edited, resized separately, even deleted, unlike a signature added with Adobe Reader: an Okular stamp-signature it is not a ”signature” in Adobe terms. A solution is to ”print as pdf”.

Placing an image as a stamp is not the same as to digitally sign a document, there is another “Digitally sign” tool in Okular. With this tool, if you change any bit of data in signed document, the signature validity status will change to “The document was modified since it was signed”. That’s real purpose to place digital signature into pdf - to control any modifications of document. If you wish to protect document from modifications - there are other ways to do it, e.g. to implement password protection.

Question to everyone using stamps in Okular: are the stamped images ok in your version of Okular? I’m on version 25.08.1 and now the stamped images are very pixelated. I tried making a new stamp tool and also tried different files but no success. Until a while ago this worked just fine.
