Hi, I’m having a persistent issue with the Subtitle Editor in Kdenlive. The “Split subtitle at cursor” (scissors icon) is not working correctly and it’s a major bottleneck for my project.

Problem Details:

The Bug: The scissors icon in the subtitle panel remains greyed out most of the time. It only becomes “active” (clickable) after I manually type or add a character in the text box. However, even when it becomes active, clicking it does absolutely nothing—the subtitle block does not split.

Sync Issues: It looks like a “state refresh bug”. Even though the playhead is correctly positioned over the subtitle block and the text cursor is placed exactly where the split should happen, the command is ignored.

Shortcut: I’ve also tried the “Shift+Enter” keyboard shortcut, but it is also unresponsive.

Has anyone encountered this specific behavior where the button only “wakes up” after typing but still refuses to execute the split? Any help would be much appreciated.
