in settings > shortcuts you should be able to assign your key combo to switch desktops
try searching for “desktop” and then going into the kwin settings.
my current defaults for virtual desktop 2 show as Ctrl+F2 instead of meta
for the mouse, right click on the desktop and choose Desktop settings
under the mouse tab, you can assign to the Vertical Scroll the function of Switch Desktop and you will be able to scroll thru the virtual desktops with your mouse wheel.
and if you need more options you can go into the settings for virtual desktops and explore those settings.
