Is it possible to click a window thumbnail when Task Switcher is active to switch to it?
Suppose I have a few tens of windows open. Pressing and holding Alt-Tab (with Task Switcher configured as “Thumbnail Grid”) shows the grid, as expected.
If I keep Alt-Tab held down I can mouse over the thumbnails, but clicking them does nothing (ignoring the “close” button that pops up at the top right). Clicking would be faster than repeatedly tapping Tab to switch through them.
I have been unable to find a setting to toggle that would enable this. Am I missing something, or is it currently not possible?
If it’s not possible, where’s the best place to send the feature request? My understanding is that https://bugs.kde.org is for bugs, not feature requests.

Hi! It’s odd that it’s not working, as using Alt-Tab and holding down Alt lets me do exactly what you’re describing - click on a particular thumbnail from the Task Switcher to activate that window!
Just in case there’s something funky with a particular setting, can you share what you have currently set in your Task Switcher settings? Here’s a screenshot of mine for reference:

That is odd. Our settings are identical except for “Show selected window”, which I have turned off.
For completeness I tried enabling that and applying the change, but it had no effect.
While I was testing that I also discovered that the x-in-a-red-circle that pops up in the top-right of each thumbnail also does nothing when I click it.
A few other ideas - if you create a new user profile on your device, does the same issue occur?
Does the issue occur if you use Click to focus instead of Focus follows mouse?
And, when you try to click on the Task Switcher, is anything potentially related (probably involving kwin in some way?) getting logged in the system journal at that time? Ex. if you reproduced the issue at 4:30 PM today, you could use sudo journalctl --since="2025-03-18 16:29:00" --until="2025-03-18 16:31:00" to look at the surrounding couple of minutes and see if any errors are being reported there.
Just as a heads up - one catch with the bug report is going to be, Plasma 6.1.5 has been superseded by several released versions at this point, and is no longer directly supported by Plasma developers. It’s still “current” in Kubuntu because of the fixed point release model that Ubuntu flavors typically follow, but investigation into the issue will depend on someone reproducing it on an up-to-date Plasma version.
