Synced photo service

Hi,
For the moment, I use Google Photo. For 2 € a month, I have 100 GB, would that not be enough, I pay 3 € for 200 GB. I would prefer to use Nexcloud Photos. But my Nexcloud instance is on a hosted webserver and I would never get the space for the price I pay with Google.

I’m running Fedora KDE on a Framework laptop. I can see and download my photo’s in a browser, but there’s no app with which I can see and edit my photos with an application. There are applications with which I can download all photos (digiKam, for instance). But if I delete or edit a photo locally, I manually have to take care to delete the deleted photo also in the cloud and copy the edited photo (or something like that). I also would have to keep track of which batch of photo’s is downloaded and which not.

I could delete the photos once downloaded, but then I loose them on my phone. Which is nice to have, if you want to show a certain picture to someone, or if you want to look up a past event.

So… Thoughts on this? Experiences with (online) photo services or storage options?
