Systemsettings graphical glitches on debian

Two issues I have with systemsettings I cannot find a fix for.

  1. Fonts are messed up in the color tab for themes.
  2. Tabs in other settings don’t look like how they’re supposed to be or in this screenshot case, the icons are colored in black.

Is there any solution? I’ve tried nuking all my local config files under $HOME/.config and $HOME/.local/share that were only read by plasma and KDE applications… but that didn’t fix it. Am I missing a dependency? Note that I cannot test it with wayland because GNOME 43 GDM doesn’t allow wayland with nvidia due to so many issues at the time of release. So I can only test this on X11.

Hi - do you have both GNOME and KDE Plasma in use on the same user profile? For what it’s worth, while some folks report no issues with that, my experience was that trying to have one home folder with two desktop environments caused all sorts of oddities.

It might be worth testing out creating a new account with just KDE Plasma in use, to see if there’s some other configuration issue going on here. If everything is as expected there, then you could try applying customizations from the other account one-by-one to narrow down which ones cause problems.
