The minimum required resouce is to low

The Install KDE Linux page says it supports the PC with :

  • 1 GB of memory (more will make the system faster)
  • 6 GB of storage space (more than 12 will allow for system rollbacks)

But the newest Image kde-linux_202511270254.raw doesn’t work with this resource. I ask somebody to check.

With the 1GB RAM, the desktop is not rendered well (no panel, no installer icon ). Even clicking, the installer doesn’t start.

With the 2GB RAM, the installer starts but crashes in the middle. It says 6GB of storage is not enough.

Please refer to my screenshot. Taken by VMware Workstation Pro.

in second case you get message “Your KDELinux partition is running out of disk space; 0 MiB of space remaining (0%).”

That means your disk has too little space and the installation has filled the entire disk, and not everything could even fit on it. Install a bigger disk storage or define more space to partition.

Hi Ilkant.

Thank you very much. But my point is not that.

I know my storage is too small. The point is that KDE Linux declares its minimum storage requirement to be 6GB. My test just followed it to test whether that declaration is precise or not.

According to my trial, the minimum installed size is around 8GB. Therefore, I recommend that the KDE review the minimum requirements and update them.
