The Timer widget looks too outdated

It appears that the Timer widget looks outdated, with inconsistent look and feel, and awkward customization. The Timer widget is also separate from the Clock app, meaning that timers on the widget are not synchronized to the timers on the Clock.

I have three concerns to address:

  1. The timer widget suddenly changes appearance from a more modern look when recently added to an older display when resized to larger sizes. It will not be reverted when the widget is resized back. [top Desktop timer]
  2. When clicking on the timer widget in the desktop, the displays look way too big and out of proportion. [bottom Desktop timer, when clicked]
  3. When the widget is placed on the panel, and when you show only the progress bar, the widget just displays a much longer version of the progress bar. Also, the increments of the lengthened progress bar also seem to grow, meaning that the lengthened progress bar provided no increase in resolution. [Panel timer, on the bottom left hand corner]

I would like to suggest two ways to improve this widget

  • Update the Timer widget so it has consistent look and feel as the most maintained KDE apps
  • Implement the widget feature for the Clock app (much like System Monitor), and deprecate the current Timer widget.
