This week more work was poured into making Plasma 6.5 the best and most stable release ever. I know I write that a lot, but I feel like we get better at it every time, and this time it feels like that’s the case here too as well.
Just got a big KDE / Plama update (using CachyOS / Arch), unfortunately with an apparent big bug: Apps (Signal, Chromium, Vivaldi, NExtcloud …) are no longer able to access Kwallet. Any idea, apart from reporting, if there is a fix or a workaround? Do not want to lose a huge amount of data.
“Fixed a very annoying issue that made graphical vector content copied in apps like Inkscape and LibreOffice Draw get unnecessarily and destructively rasterized when pasting them.”
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! It’s been driving me crazy for months but I 1) thought it was libreoffice bug and if I’m honest I got a little lazy about reporting it, and 2) I thought maybe it was a deliberate thing? Because if I copied it twice, it would get back to expected behaviour, so I thought some people would actually want for it to be an image instead of a libreoffice element, and then if they reeeeally wanted the element they’d go for a second ctrl+c. Stupid, yeah, but I was just so pressed for time I never reported it. THANK YOU Fushan Wen!!!
I had the exact same experience, assumptions, and discovered workaround! It was only when Fushan fixed the bug and I saw the patch that I realized it was a Plasma bug rather than a LibreOffice bug!
Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately, I have already tried this and it didn’t help. Reinstall of CachyOS also not. So installed Kubuntu 25.04 with older KDE and everything is running again. A temporary solution, because running outdated software is not ideal, but better than nothing for the moment.
