Thunderbird crashes 'minidump-analyzer'

Having a problem with latest version of Thunderbird 128.5.2esr (64-bit) with frequent crashes and the message ‘failed to run minidump-analyzer’ . I have tried removing TBird and reinstalling and also using .deb and snap versions but the problem persists. Any ideas?

So update here: the crashes only happen in Wayland sessions. Reverted to X11 and TBird is stable. Used to be stable in Wayland, but following updates, only works in X11 sessions. Any idea why this might be the case?

Hi - since this looks like an issue that’s outside of KDE software, you’ll likely have better luck with places that are more specifically focused on Thunderbird: Thunderbird Help

As a general note before trying there though, I would say that uninstalling and reinstalling from a package manager often doesn’t also delete or clean-up your profile data within your home folder. If you’re looking to try a “clean slate” for troubleshooting, you might also need to manually backup-and-delete a folder like ~/.thunderbird.
