So, just a minute ago I had the titlebar follow the same color as the rest of my windows, then i rebooted and bam, its now this color. It is now just tied to the windows decorated and idk how to change it, in fact, idk how I changed it before lol. Anyone knows?
You seem to be using a custom window decoration theme, so that must be setting your title bar color.
What theme are you using?
Iâm, using Utterly-Round-Dark-Solid
But before it was using the color from the color theme is what has me confused why now it changed
@dzon what is the application theme that you use?
yea it was looking like that before idk what changed it tbh @dzon
The theme? None really. Just some color scheme on some lightly. Icons, plasmaâŚitâs all custom. And as far as the kvantum theme I use for some( for instance audacious or smplayer), also homemade Iâm afraid.
And some requires a bit of both of course ( kvantum+color scheme), like Gwenview.
If the issue persists, you could try a different window decoration alltogether. I mean, instead of some aurorae try, say, klassy or something. Not sure if Breeze enhanced is still around (in case you want those maclike buttons)
Edit: I checked for breeze enhanced. Yep, still around and updated for 6.
Guess if youâre on 5, youâll need the old one if youâre intrested.

I also failed to reproduce the problem - the window decoration does correctly matches the color theme. I would recommend trying to âturn it off and on againâ by changing the color scheme and back again, and/or the window decoration and back again.
Well Well- Apparently it was the plasma style lol. I started messing around to see what would happen, of course tried turning it off and on again, and just noticed the plasma style is what was messing it up lol
It seems they removed the option to change the color of the title bar. How can I change that color?. Do I need to modify some configuration file?.
Thanks.
It is definitely still there:
- Open System Settings â Colors & Themes â Colors
- In the current active color scheme, click the pencil button:
- In the color scheme editor, under Colors choose the Color set âcommon colorsâ.
- scroll the list of colors all the way to the bottom to find âActive Titlebarâ, âActive Titlebar Textâ, etc.
Note that very custom window decoration themes may not support setting their colors with the color scheme editor.
Yea ive tried that but it still depends on what plasma style im using, if I use Breeze the window decoration uses the color from the color scheme, if I use a different plasma style it overrides it for one based on the plasma style im guessing? I wonder if I could find a config to modif that somewhere
As Iâve mentioned in my previous comment - third party themes are not guaranteed to obey the colour scheme, they might but often do not.
If you want to change the colors in a theme that does not obey the color scheme, the theme might have a control panel to let you choose custom colors, but if it doesnât than the only thing you can do is to edit the theme source code.
One note regarding terms and definitions - Plasma offers different theming options that the can mix and match, but make sure to it use the correct terms so that people understand you:
- âPlasma styleâ controls the look and feel of Plasma UI elements like the panel and widgets.
- âapplication styleâ controls how applications (sth least KDE and Qt apps) look - buttons, tabs and stuff like that.
- âwindow decorationâ controls how the borders around windows, and specifically the titlebar looks.
- âcolor schemeâ controls the colors used in any of these styles - if they support KDE color schemes: all KDE content does but most 3rd party themes do not.
When you talk about the color of the titlebar - you need to talk about the window decoration theme.
Your plasma theme does panel, menu widgetsâŚnot the titlebar. As Guss mentioned, window decoration is what handles the titlebar. That particular aurorae theme ( utterly round) does adapt to dark color schemes, most are fixed to a certain style. Thatâs why I mentioned that if you want something different to breeze window decoration, but adapts to the color scheme regardless if itâs dark or light, 99,99% of aurorae themes will not cut it. In that case you need a special window decoration like, for example, Klassy.

I get that the titlebar is controlled by the windows decoration, but in my instance it is being modified by the plasma style, that is what i find weird. I was trying to use Dragonized (or whoever Garuda spells it) as the plasma style with Utterly Round. And like I said at some point it worked fine idk what changed it, maybe im just remembering it wrong but I dont think so. Iâll look for smth else I suppose.
Here is Utterly Round as the window decoration and Sweet as the Plasma Style
So, Utterly Round is an Aurorae theme that follows the KDE theme colors guideline (also see their github), which means it should follow the color scheme correctly. In my testing though - the preview in the System Settings looks correct, but when applied it looks like your âbrokenâ example - the color is clearly static and doesnât match the color theme.
Iâm not sure what is going on, and where the bug is (Maybe in the Aurorae engine itself?) but I ran out of time to investigate fixing 3rd party stuff that Iâm not actually using, sorry ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Thank you guss77. I didnât look carefully and thought that was another element inside the example window
Nice theme . Thanks dzon.
