Touch keyboard appears on every app/screen

Not sure if I should report this as a bug or help. But I think it is a normal thing in KDE. I have a 2in1 laptop which can be converted to a tablet (lid goes all the way around). Whenever I am using touch the virtual keyboard shows up even when I didn’t select an input field. For example, moving into a new tab the keyboard just opens up covering up the screen.

For now I have just switched off the virtual keyboard and inserted an icon the panel which can be enabled and disabled, whenever I need it. Would like to know if any issue has been created regarding this? Is the issue being worked on?

Hi - just checking, if it’s creating or switching to a new tab in Firefox that is the main triggering action there, that seems like it would be by design. Firefox focuses the location bar when you do either of those things, so the assumption would be that the next action following a text field getting focused is typing into that field.

If that’s undesirable behavior by Firefox for your use case, there might be ways around it, but it looks like they would involve Firefox add-ons: Reddit link, Mozilla link
