Since I have upgraded to KDE/Plasma 6.X my touchpad is disabled on my HP Pavilion laptop after I resume from sleep.
This has never happend before.
It happens on Debian Trixie and on Opensuse tumbleweed.
And only with KDE/Plasma 6, not when using another desktop evironment.
On Tumbleweed on my desktop PC the sound is now muted after resume from sleep since it has upgraded from KDE/Plasma 6.3.x to 6.4
There seem to be some agressive powermanagement going on I think.
But I cannot find a way in the systemsettings to get rid of these problems, or work around it.
Right now I use a keyboard shortcut to enable the touchpad on my laptop, and change the volume to get sound again on my desktop.
Am I the only one with these things happening?
Can somebody point me in the right direction to figure out why this happens?
Hi - just checking, are there any messages potentially related to audio, for example regarding pipewire, pulseaudio, etc., in the system journal around when the system sleeps and resumes?
If you reproduce the issue by putting the device in sleep mode at 4:30 PM, and resuming at 4:35 PM, the command sudo journalctl --since="2025-06-26 16:29:00" --until="2025-06-26 16:36:00" should cover that time period.
On Tumbleweed the audio âproblemâ seems to be resolved.
It just doesnât happen anymore.
But the touchpad issue remains.
Iâm hoping for a fix in KDE/Plasma 6.4.1
If there isnât any, then I will put Fedora on it that doesnât seem to have that problem.
In general, this strange problem disappeared for some reason after i went to the settings in the The âkeyboard shortcutâ removed something related to disabling the touchpad. To be honest, I still havenât figured out what this is about, but itâs been working for two days since I did it.

Yeah I tried that too, but for me it didnât work.
