I’m running KDE Plasma 6.1.5 Wayland on Fedora 40.
It’s my first linux distro on linux, so I don’t know much about how touchpads usually feel on other configurations, but compared to Windows cursor’s movement is too laggy or inert. It almost feels like I’m trying to control cursor with gamepad’s stick. My guess is that there’s some heavy cursor path smoothing, which makes it really hard to aim fast.
I’ve tried disabling acceleration, but it didn’t help. Is there any way to change this behaviour?
I’m not sure what behaviour you expect - I may be a too long Linux user that is used to what we get, but I’m happy with what we get in Plasma.
I suggest you play with the acceleration slider - if I understand your description, it sounds like you want more acceleration, not less: more acceleration let’s you get quickly to where you want to go while being more accurate when you move slower.
If none of the options in Plasma’s mouse system settings help, then IMHO, it is what it is
I actually found a reddit post (i’m not allowed to use links here but you can find it by typing touchpad_randomly_becomes_sluggish), describing the exact issue I have, but with Fedora Hyprland. So this is most probably is not connected to the plasma
